Every Outfit Rachel Ever Wore On 'Friends', Ranked From Best To Worst: Season 2

Welcome to the second installation of Rachel's outfits! Now we're looking at every single on of Rachel's outfits on Season 2 of Friends. For Rachel, Season 2 was all about the mini-skirt and the adorable sweater. It was a very "Cheerleader grew up and went to fashion school" style (which right now is weirdly very hipster chic), and while there's quite a few outfits I'd love to add to my own wardrobe, there's definitely a few duds in there too.

Season 2, Episode 8

The One Where Rachel Auditions for The Fast & the Furious.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 20

This horrible half-sweater turtle neck thing makes 20-something Rachel look like a middle-ages soccer mom.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 14

We’ve all been here. Laundry day. Sweats and your “nice” coat. Never a good look.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 3

Love the lamp, hate the top.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 11

You know what I said about leopard print before? It’s true, but doesn’t apply to vests. All vests should be burned.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 21

You can’t see Rachel’s full outfit in this scene but I can see the silver toggles on that tacky vest.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 4

BORING. Especially when the guy you like is with someone else. Some effort, Rachel!

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 1

Shorts = bad.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 8

This top is ill-fitting, and the sweater around the waist doesn’t quite suit the formality of the outfit. And then there’s that French twist up-do.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 2

Next to Phoebe’s rad purple jacket and Monica’s denim overalls, Rachel suffers.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 17

I swear to God, my dad had that exact sweater in the ’90s.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 12

There it is again. That poop colored suede jacket.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 10

This is Rachel’s ”Seinfeld” look.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 14

Same top as earlier, different color, just as offensive.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 21

I don’t know why that top is tucked it when it has absolutely no business being that way.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 12

BOOTLEG JEANS! Remember those? Or have you willfully erased those from your memory?

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 7

Snooze.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 13

I mean, she picked up Jean Claude Van Dam in this outfit, so it might not be as horrible as I think it is.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 15

In which Rachel reveals she’s Neo from The Matrix.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 23

This dowdy shirt really needs a bra.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 19

When I was 12, I nearly exclusively wore velour tops.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 9

A velvet top with a sarong, to most, is a weird combination. To Rachel, it’s just another party outfit.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 9

Even with the velvet gone, the sarong is still weird.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 19

It’s not the worst, but it’s not the best either. Somethings just are what they are.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 10

I don’t like turtle necks to begin with, but turtle necks with fine jewelry on top are my nightmare. Hello, Rachel Soprano.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 2

The brown drives me insane.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 17

I’m not the biggest fan of v-neck tees. Rachel looks cute in them mostly, I guess.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 16

I didn’t mind this until I noticed the braided belt.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 6

This body-stocking style shirt is weirdly frumpy.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 22

All this shirt needs to be cute is a smaller collar and a few more buttons.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 21

Lace cardigans are a ’90s remnant I’m glad haven’t made a comeback.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 22

That metallic green fabric with a purple tint is so… ’80s prom.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 13

This would be perfect if it wasn’t for the write writing on the top. WHY?

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 8

Not one of Rachel’s best casual outfits, but we forgive her because Ross had just been a huge jerk.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 12

This is cute enough, but a little bit too on the school girl side for my taste.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 24

Rachel looks glowing here but that motif on the front of her shirt reminds me or something a 13-year-old girl would have worn in 1994.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 15

It is what it is.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 17

This outfit is low on the scale because I’m not a fan of lace, but I can accept you might disagree with its place on the list.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 17

This overalls look is cute but unfortunately verging on chuck territory.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 4

Saved by the apron!

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 7

The first time you kiss the love of your life you might want to be wearing something a bit more thought-out than a black v-neck tee.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 17

Rachel has three modes: Sexy or adorable, boring, and try again. This is of the boring variety.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 19

I like everything about this little cardigan except the boob pockets.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 18

Against my better judgement, I kind of like this hideous jacket. She’s pulling off this look, that’s for sure.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 2

There’s nothing offensive about this outfit, but nothing particularly exciting about it.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 5

This satin-patterned scoop neck dress is very ’90s, but acceptably cute.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 12

This metallic skirt is adorable, and would be much higher on the list if the fabric wasn’t so crinkled.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 5

Great sneakers, Rachel.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 16

A boring top, but PLAID PANTS pull this one over the line.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 5

If her boobs were bigger this would look milk-maidy, but she manages to pull it off.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 2

Denim overalls and a stripe tee? Very S/S 2015.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 12

She can’t go wrong in a mini-skirt and tights.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 7

Seriously though, who looks this cute hungover?

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 20

SHE DID IT BEFORE BEYONCE.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 21

Rachel wears plaid bottoms like most of us dream we could wear even jeans.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 18

It’s some kind of science fact that women look great naked, wearing only their boyfriend’s sweater. Rachel is no exception, even though her boyfriend here is Ross.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 7

There’s that lovely Cheongsam again!

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 2

The diner waitress look in pink.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 13

Another one of Rachel’s cutest and most recognizable lounge outfits.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 23

Rachel definitely pulls off a “My daddy has a house in the Hampton’s look” in this patterned dress.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 11

Remember when “Asian” was a style and no-one worried about it? Rachel’s Cheongsam top looks great, and even more so that her outfit matches her mothers.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 19

Even at work Rachel looked cute. Note: cute aprons still holding it together.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 1

There’s something about this weird suede skirt with cut-outs around the waist that I find irresistible.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 15

This outfit is very “yoga instructor” but the tight cropped top and wide legged pants give Rachel’s body a lovely shape. Sorry, that’s a pervy thing to say, but there it is.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 9

Another awesome casual sweater from Rachel.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 10

This outfit isn’t higher only because she’s wearing it with knee-high socks, but mini overall dresses are so hot right now.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 10

One of Rachel’s best lounge outfits is this plaid pants and “Girls” t-shirt. Want to recreate.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 18

Rachel always kills it in red.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 3

Again, summer in Brooklyn, right?

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 14

I know you think this dress looks stupid but you also know Rachel was the best dressed girl at prom so…

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 9

In theory, this sweater is probably hideous, but in practice, it’s the cutest thing ever. This sweater is the opposite of communism.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 20

I mean, she could be any cute waitress in Williamsburg today, right?

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 11

One of my favorite necklines is this shoulder cut-out halter style, and Rachel’s dress for Carol and Susan’s wedding is just perfect.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 23

Simple black with floral, it’s a relief to see Season 2 Rachel in more flattering silhouettes.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 1

Rachel went through a brief “truck stop diner waitress” phase in Season 2 and it was divine…

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 2

… She basically wore the hell out of name-tag shirts.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 15

This top is kind of strange but I love it. It looks like something Opening Ceremony would sell these days for $800.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 10

As Caitlin Moran says, “leopard print is a neutral.” Would wear 100%.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 4

This outfit makes me want to start some kind of petition to bring back those USA sweaters.

Image: NBC

Season 2, Episode 24

Well you wouldn’t go out of your way to wear it, but is there a more memorable Rachel outfit? Her bridesmaids dress for her ex-fiance and ex-best friend’s wedding is one of Rachel’s most hilarious/wonderful/endearing fashion moments, so I’m giving it number one place.
