Zuckerberg Posts Adorable Message About His Wife

by Jenny Hollander

Back in 2012, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan surprised everybody with an low-key wedding in their Silicon Valley backyard, just one day after Zuckerberg took Facebook public. The couple, who have been together since 2003, generally keep their relationship out of the spotlight, but on Thursday Zuckerberg posted a touching "Lean In Together" post about Chan, writing about how inspired he is by his wife.

Unsurprisingly, Zuckerberg is pretty active on Facebook — posting about his recent reading choices, his goals with Facebook, and his dog, Beast. (Pro tip: Follow Beast on Facebook.) On Thursday, to promote his COO Sheryl Sandberg's "Lean In Together" initiative, which encourages men to play their part in the Lean In movement, Zuckerberg wrote:

I'm so proud of Priscilla Chan for all the good she does in the world. When we first met at Harvard, she was running a program to mentor students in the nearby projects. After she graduated (she actually made it!), she became a school teacher. She went to medical school and became an award-winning pediatrician, working with underserved families at our local public hospital. All this while working with me on our education and health philanthropy, and now working on new ways we can care for children as well. Priscilla, you're such an inspiring person, and I'm so proud to support you and see what you do next.#LeanInTogether

Back in 2012, when the couple married, both Chan and Zuckerberg let the world know about it by — you guessed it — changing their relationship status on Facebook.
