Interesting Choice For Baby Shower Venue, Jill

by Nicole Pomarico

If you've been keeping up with Jill Duggar's frequent pregnancy updates, you can tell by the photos she posts on Instagram that homegirl's about to pop. She's due this month to give birth to her first child — a boy! — with her new husband, Derick Dillard, and since the big day is getting closer, there's only one thing left to do: have a baby shower. So over the weekend, that's exactly what the people from Derick's church decided to do for the couple... and they did it in a pretty interesting location: Olive Garden. Yes, you read that correctly. Jill Duggar had her baby shower at Olive Garden, home of unlimited breadsticks.

Not that there's anything wrong with Olive Garden, of course, because, like I said, it's the home of unlimited breadsticks, and if you say you don't like them, you're lying. But you can't deny it's hilarious that she used it as a place for her baby shower... and, that in the picture she posted on Instagram from the event, she hashtagged and tagged Olive Garden. Because in case you couldn't tell, Jill was at Olive Garden, and she really wanted her followers to be aware. Obviously, she was just grateful they let her use the space, and appropriately so, but it's still funny.

Now, I'm wondering where they're going to plan the rest of their parties, especially since this family has a lot coming up. Aside from the inevitable baby showers that will happen en masse as the kids continue to get older and start families of their own, there are still plenty of birthday parties and weddings to be had. And it is my hope that TLC plans to capture them all.

Knowing the Duggars? These are the venues I'm pretty sure they'll pick.

Chick-Fil-A

The Duggars are constantly at Chick-Fil-A, whether it's the original family, the Josh and Anna branch, or Derick and Jill taking her various siblings out to lunch. And it's no surprise. The company's values align with what the Duggars believe in, and even though the folks behind the fast food chain have some pretty icky beliefs, those chicken nuggets are delicious. Their kids can have pretty rockin' parties on their playgrounds and eat waffle fries 'til their hearts are content.

Wal-Mart

Derek works for Wal-Mart's corporate offices, so their family is a big fan of the megastore. Maybe for their next baby, his co-workers will host their baby shower at Wally World? It's totally possible.

Kirk Cameron's House

There is no one the Duggars love more than Kirk Cameron — and his movies, which are not exactly the best. Being that he is their favorite celebrity, it would be a celebration of the highest order at Cameron's house, which means the Duggars might get a little crazy and wear a skirt above the knee.

The Creation Museum

Remember that time the family road tripped to the museum in Cincinnati that tells the story of the universe, not from a scientific perspective but from the Bible's perspective? I am willing to put money on the fact that eventually, they will rent it out for a wedding. After all, it is one of the few places in the world you can find dinosaurs skeletons and mannequins dressed like Adam and Eve under the same roof.

Jill's Mansion

Have you seen this house? It's ridiculous. Stop hosting parties at your parents' house and start having them here! There's only two of you! You live in a palace!

Hobby Lobby

Basically anything decorative in the Duggars' house comes straight from Hobby Lobby, which I know for sure because I spend hours every week walking around Hobby Lobby and ultimately buying nothing because I am overwhelmed by the sheer volume of items they sell. Since they're fans of the brand, maybe they'll hold a future wedding shower here and have a Make Your Own Bridesmaids Dress contest in the fabric department.
