Kerry Washington's Paleyfest Ensemble Was Perfect, Proving She Should Go Mod More Often
Really, when you think about it, the only person who has better style game than Olivia Pope is her off-screen counterpart Kerry Washington. Actually, even then, it's a pretty close call: After all, if Olivia ever decided to get pregnant and move to Vermont with Fitz (or, hey, go back to the islands with Jake Ballard), you can bet she'd handle maternity wear as good, if not better than Kerry. But whether you're team Olivia or team Kerry, one thing's undeniable: Kerry's fashion game is fierce — she's a risk-taker who has a great sense of style, and a real knack for pulling off fun prints and textures, along with quirky pops of color. Proof: Kerry Washington's outfit at Paleyfest LA last night.
Did you happen to catch the dress in question? It was kind of to-die-for — she wore a mod-silhouetted Mary Katrantzou number, and she looked very chic. The yellow beading on the bodice made it really fun, while the overall '60s feel of the look made it very classic and retro. It got me thinking that it's a look Kerry should rock even more often, and why not look to the recent slew of fashion weeks for inspiration? Well, first, let's take a look at the dress in question, then we'll get to all the other ensembles Ms. Kerry needs to wear next:
I mean, right? Now, on to the fashion week picks!
Michael van der Ham
Kerry would totally rock this space-age Michael van der Ham number — after all, we know she can really work space-y metallics.
The mod silhouettes from the Fall/Winter Prada 2015 show might also be a nice fit for Kerry.
Alice + Olivia
How kicky and awesome would she look in the shorter number on the right?
Dolce and Gabbana
Any of these three would look completely gorgeous on the red carpet.
Bottom line? Kerry Washington can do (almost) no fashion wrong!
