New Wes Anderson Movie Poster Is Magical

by Kristie Rohwedder

What's the opposite of "I'm so pissed I want to spit"? Because Wes Anderson fans should be feeling all sorts of joy regarding the upcoming The Grand Budapest Hotel. The man behind Moonrise Kingdom will kitsch up our lives with the movie in 2014, and Fox Searchlight brightened my Monday with its poster release. The plot summary: "A famous hotel's legendary concierge strikes up a friendship with a young employee who becomes his protégé." The concierge will be brought to life by Ralph Fiennes (oh hello, new favorite movie) and the young employee by Tony Revolori. That should be enough to sell you on the movie, but the rest of the cast is rather outstanding.

In the event you don't have an antique magnifying glass or cutesy microscope handy and you can't read the poster, here's the rest of the cast:

F. Murray Abraham (SALIERI!!!!), Edward Norton, Matthew Amalric, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe (stop it, Wes Anderson. You keep outdoing yourself), Lea Seydoux, Saoirse Ronan, Jeff Goldblum (I can't breathe), Jason Schwartzman (obvi), Jude Law (hubba hubba!), Tilda Swinton (as if this movie wasn't perfect enough), Harvey Keitel, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Murray (obvi, pt. 2), and Owen Wilson (obvi, pt. 3).

I'm going to cast whimsy to the side for a moment and say that cast is downright balls-out crazy. I assure you, that's all I want from a Wes Anderson movie.

The gauzy poster is beautiful: A stunning pink hotel before a gorgeous mountain range. Undoubtedly, there is at least one Anderson fanatic out there preparing a dollhouse in the poster's likeness. The trailer will be available online Oct. 17 for our viewing pleasure.
