Hilary Duff Rocks $600 Glitter Sneakers

Well, that's one way to put a little pep in your step. Hilary Duff wore Saint Laurent red glitter sneakers during her outing today and they were not what you would call affordable. Duff's designer sneakers retail for $600, which might seem like a lot for a pair of kicks, but is likely a drop in the bucket for the former Lizzie McGuire star. Only days after dyeing her hair blue à la Kylie Jenner, it seems like Duff is choosing to express her personal style through bold, bright colors—and we totally approve.

Duff perfectly demonstrates the idea of high-low fashion, pairing her $600 designer canvas sneakers with a basic pair ripped jeans and a white t-shirt, for a look that can only be described as "casually glam." Duff has been getting a lot of attention lately, especially after officially filing for divorce from her husband Mike Comrie.

While I like the idea of glittery shoes (because who doesn’t want glitter everything?), I’m not crazy about the red. They remind me of Dorothy’s red heels from The Wizard of Oz, which isn’t necessarily the most wearable look of all time. Although I must admit, Duff does a good job at making them look like they belong on the streets of Los Angeles, rather than a yellow brick road or Parisian runway.
