Is R. Pattz & FKA Twigs' Engagement Really A Joke?

I hate April Fool's Day for one very important reason: I can't trust a single thing that people say. But just because someone says something outlandish on April 1 doesn't necessarily mean that there isn't any truth to it — which might be what happened with T-Pain on this day. The rapper gave an interview to Vulture on Wednesday in which he claimed that FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson are engaged, only to quickly backtrack on Twitter and insist that he was just giving Vulture a little April Fools' Day fun. It's a bit of a weird joke to make, which is why I was a tad suspicious of T-Pain's alleged joke — and, apparently, I was right to be. According to two sources close to the couple speaking to People, FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson really are engaged — so now I officially don't know what to believe.

So... which is it? Are the British singer and the former Twilight star really planning on walking down the aisle in the future? For now, it looks like the answer we're receiving is a hard "maybe" — Bustle has reached out to Pattinson and FKA Twigs' respective reps, but has yet to hear back. Personally, I'm seeing a lot of signs that this couple might be getting hitched — so, whether or not T-Pain really was joking about the engagement or had to stick his foot in his mouth to cover up the secret, here's why I can totally believe Pattinson and FKA Twigs might be engaged.

They Live Together

According to People, Twigs has moved into Pattinson's home. Since they're already living together, it's not completely out of the realm of possibility that they'd get engaged next.

They Exchanged Promise Rings

According to reports, the pair exchanged promise rings back in March. That's basically a pre-engagement ring, right?

Pattinson Went On Tour With FKA Twigs

A busy actor taking time out of his schedule to accompany his girlfriend on tour? That's some serious dedication to the relationship.

It's Different Than Pattinson's Last Relationship

No hate at all to Kristen Stewart, but for someone as camera shy as Pattinson, dating his Twilight co-star was a challenge — the world was completely obsessed with couple both onscreen and off, and that's stressful on anyone. Twigs is also a celebrity, but the cameras aren't chasing them quite as heavily, which may make it easier for the couple to want to settle down.

The T-Pain Thing Is Highly Suspicious, No?

If you're going to do a April Fools' Day prank right, you don't reveal your plan a mere hours after setting it into motion! Come on, T-Pain — you were telling the truth, weren't you? WEREN'T YOU?!?
