With the release of Furious 7 on April 3, late actor Paul Walker's tragic death has been at the forefront of our minds. After all, at the time of his death on Nov. 30, 2013, Paul had not yet completed filming on the seventh film in the Fast & Furious franchise. Producers had a great deal of footage of Paul already, but for the uncompleted portions of the movie, producers turned to not only CGI, but also to Paul's two younger brothers, Caleb and Cody, to act as stand-ins for the late actor. With no previous acting experience (though Cody did some work as a stuntman), the two of them stood in for their brother, helping to give Walker — and his Fast & Furious character Brian O'Conner — the send-off he deserved in the franchise. And now, it seems like one of Walker's brothers might be interested in continuing his acting career: According to the New York Daily News, there are rumors that Paul Walker's brother Cody may be in Fast & Furious 8 .
While for now the possibility of Cody joining the Fast & Furious franchise remains just an unconfirmed report, there are a few facets of this rumor that make it seem likely — especially to diehard fans of this franchise: For instance, reports have surfaced that Cody Walker has been working with Paul's former manager, Matt Luber, and taking meetings in Hollywood about future acting projects in various television shows and movies. Though an eighth Fast & Furious film is not explicitly mentioned in the reports, Cody did attend the seventh film's premiere on April 1, and the entire cast of Furious 7 has been clear about how much he bonded with them.
Sadly, however, we don't have a solid answer yet as far as whether or not Cody will remain a part of the Fast & Furious family. Obviously Cody wouldn't play Paul's character Brian O'Conner, but he looks so similar to Paul that it would have to be addressed — so he could easily play a family member of Brian's, or something. But, considering Cody wasn't introduced as a new character in Furious 7, we're flying blind here.
It's likely that more information will come out soon as far as projects we can expect to see Cody in, so it seems like all we can do for now is stay tuned — and maybe rewatch Furious 7 about 10 more times, because once was definitely not enough.
