Nick Jonas' New Song Could Be Huge This Summer

by Alex Kritselis

Is this an early contender for 2015's Song of the Summer? I think so. Over the weekend, Sage the Gemini's new single with Nick Jonas, "Good Thing," hit the Web, and its hit potential is through the roof. I can't wait for this one to take over the airwaves! Though it's not exactly a showcase of the 22-year-old "G.D.F.R." rapper's skills (which is a little curious considering it's his song), the track features a massive, sing-along hook courtesy of Jonas that'll be knocking around your head for a very long time. What more could you ask for from a Song of the Summer?

On "Good Thing's" super smooth pre-chorus and chorus sections, Jonas sings:

This ain't nothin' but dangerous

We about to be over it

Why can't it just be what it is?

Why can't it be what it is?

We're both gettin' emotional

At the same time gettin' so sexual

Why can't it just be what it is?

Why can't it be what it is?

I know, you know, we know

We can make the good thing keep happenin'

Good thing keep happenin'

I know, you know, we know

We can make the good thing keep happenin'

Good thing keep happenin'

There's no official word yet on who produced "Good Thing," but Sage the Gemini was just in the studio with pop music mastermind Max Martin...

"Good Thing" definitely has a similar vibe to Ariana Grande's "Love Me Harder" and Taylor Swift's "Style" — two tracks Martin recently co-wrote and co-produced — so I think it's possible the Grammy Award–winning musician had a hand in creating it. I hope we'll be hearing the song on the radio soon! I'm really looking forward to blasting this one in my car with the windows down.
