While we only just found out that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds christened their firstborn daughter "James," we've yet to see a pic of that genetically blessed spawn. What we have seen is hot mama Blake Lively's new Allure cover. It's the May 2015 issue and the actress and new mom is rocking a fresh-faced, post-pregnancy, minimal makeup glow.
Yes, Lively is preternaturally gorgeous, so that's to be expected when she covers a magazine. But I'm used to her rocking sun-kissed skin and beachy waves. This is Blake, Version 2.0 and she is more grown up, with more attention called to her baby blues than ever before. Those things are bluer than the ocean.
Her hair is a honey hue, as opposed to that familiar, super golden blonde and her pucker is slicked with the softest pink lipstick imaginable. Her lashes are defined, especially the lower ones.
Thanks to the minimal makeup, combined with a crisp white shirt, Blake Lively has truly come into her own; I'm not going, "OMG, look at how pretty Serena from Gossip Girl is on this mag cover!" I feel like I finally see Blake Lively, but this is not the soccer mom edition, either. She's just a big girl now!
The mag shared the cover via Instagram.
For someone who is lacking sleep due to caring for an infant, Lively is radiant! The baby bump may be gone, but that pregnancy glow has remained. It's the post-prego glow! Sure, it's a professional photo shoot with expert lighting and makeup artists, but Lively has that something else that you can't fake. It's an intangible.
Remember how on point Lively's maternity looks were? That was a well-dressed bump.
Clearly, pregnancy agreed with her. So does motherhood, judging by the Allure cover.
