Is Maci Really Leaving 'Teen Mom OG'?

In every commercial for Teen Mom OG that has ever aired on MTV, there is one clip that is always included: When Maci Bookout finds out that Farrah Abraham is joining the cast and decides that if Farrah's back, she's out. This is worrisome, because Maci's always been my favorite of the Teen Moms. I've always admired how she is so down to earth and always put Bentley first, even when being a teenage mom threw extra obstacles in her path. I'd be heartbroken if Maci decided to leave the cast, and if you feel the same way, I have good news: There's nothing to worry about. At first, Maci definitely wanted to leave Teen Mom because of Farrah's return, but eventually, she'll end up coming back.

So what's the deal? According to Maci's interview with E! Online, her knee-jerk reaction when hearing about Farrah coming back was to pull out of the show, mainly because she was worried about the impact it'd have on her son Bentley. Here's what Maci told E! in February.

I can't really comment on my leaving the show. As far as the way I felt when she was returning, it's not about Farrah. I don't hold a grudge against her, I'm not mad at her, I don't judge her—nothing like that. But there's also a fine line with what I find appropriate and I just don't think it's appropriate for my 6-year-old son to be involved with some of the things that Farrah is involved with. So, you know, if we're watching one scene and he's in the front yard throwing baseball and then five seconds later they're at a strip club, to me, that's just not appropriate. And you know, the shows going to air on Mondays and that's going to be happening and then he has to wake up and go to school the next day with six and seven year olds in kindergarten that just watched all of that happen.

I'm not sure what kindergarteners are watching Teen Mom, but if a classmate is on the show, it's totally possible their parents are watching while the kids are in the room. I can't fault Maci for her thought process.

Fortunately, though, this doesn't mean that we have to let go of Maci to have Farrah on the show. MTV's synopsis for the May 5 episode shows that Maci will come back, stating, "Maci agrees to return to the series, but has conditions regarding Bentley; Catelynn and Tyler struggle with parenthood; Farrah introduces her mother to Simon."

Now we just have to figure out what those conditions will be. Will Maci lay down the law? How far is MTV willing to go to keep her around? It won't be long 'before we find out all those details.
