20 Blonde Shades To Consider When Going Brighter For Summer
Who knew that there were so many different shades of blonde? From bronde and ashy to strawberry and silver, there are more variations of the golden hue than you probably knew even existed. Although I've never dyed my hair before, I'm definitely intrigued by the idea of going brighter for summer. When I started to do some research, I found myself overwhelmed by the abundance of shade choices. If you're in the same boat as I am and are looking to go blonde, here are 20 of the best shades to consider, from the brightest high-wattage to the darkest hues.
White Blonde
The white-out look might be one of the most drastic shades, but it definitely makes a gorgeous statement. Rita Ora should be your reference for this shade, and all bold looks really (see pink pant suits).
Ashy Platinum Blonde
Gwyneth Paltrow’s hair looks almost white, but not quite. If the white-out look is too extreme for you, try this shade for starters instead.
Golden Platinum Blonde
This shade captures the essence of Old Hollywood Glam. Due to the fact that most of the OG Hollywood Glam girls’ photos will be in black and white, use Gwen Stefani as your reference for this look when visiting your hair dresser.
Silver Blonde
If going totally silver is a little scary for you, then this shade of silver blonde is a good introduction to one of the most recent hot hair trends. Ellie Goulding rocks this look like its her job.
Pale Golden Blonde
This is a more muted, and therefore, more natural shade of golden blonde. Amanda Seyfried’s hair is just gorgeous, making this shade definitely enviable.
Sandy Blonde
This pint-sized actress is another iconic blonde. Although her hair has taken on many shades of blonde over the years, our favorite shade on Reese Witherspoon is the sandy blonde she rocks here.
Baby Blonde
This shade is so natural looking, they’ll think you were born with it. Rosie Huntington Whitely wears this shade so well, who wouldn’t want to copy her?
Brushed On Blonde
This look is also a natural take on being a blondie. It’s best for lazy girls who aren’t into high maintenance hair care. BTW, Ashley Olsen doesn’t think there is anything wrong with that at all.
Golden Dirty Blonde
This is not January Jones’ hair color anymore, but it is one of her best looks. If you are thinking of going dirty blonde, definitely use her as a reference!
Golden Beige Blonde
This is one celebrity who has vowed to never change her hair and why should she?
Cafe Au Lait Blonde
Have you noticed that Taylor Swift’s most recent hair color actually resembles light, sweet coffee? Not what you’d expect from a shade of blonde, but it is super pretty.
Honeyed Blonde
This is probably one of my favorite shades. I have been thinking of dying my hair this color for a while but then I don’t…because I am not Giselle Bunchen.
Caramel Blonde
This is one of my favorite looks from Ciara. Her caramel blonde lob is perfection.
Dark Ashy Blonde
Upton’s blonde is a little darker than your average platinum, and I love it.
Rose Gold Blonde
Pink hair is so hot right now. This is a really pretty way to go pink without over-doing it.
Beach Blonde
Another iconic blondie that you can reference! Blake Lively’s beach blonde hair is SO infamous, every hair stylist will know what you’re going for if you ask for her.
Gray Blonde
Cara Delevingne’s gray-blonde tresses are just unique as she is.
Strawberry Blonde
Emma Stone has changed her look a few times, but my favorite is her strawberry blonde locks because its a nice medium between her signature red and blonde.
Light Brown Blonde
This shade is a little brighter than bronde so we’re not sure what to call it, but whatever you want to name it, it looks amazing.
Bronde
Beyonce’s hair is the perfect marriage of brunette and blonde hues.
