This Forthcoming YA Series May Be Your New Fave

by Caitlin White

Clearly the two young adult authors have found a happy working relationship together. Starbound series authors Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner just sold a new two-book series, or duology, to their existing publisher Disney-Hyperion. And the series, titled Unearthed, is combining some of my absolute favorite things. The YA authors have pitched their new series as Indiana Jones (only my first ever crush) meets Lara Croft from Tomb Raider (badass)... in space. I mean, come on.

According to the Goodreads page for Unearthed:

Jules Addison and Amelia Radcliffe join forces in a tomb-raiding race on a newly discovered planet to unravel the secrets of an ancient, long-extinct civilization — only to uncover a revelation that could spell the end of the human race.

Secrets? Lost civilizations? New planets? Sign me up. Kaufman and Spooner are currently collaborating on an interstellar science fiction series, 2013's These Broken Stars, 2014's This Shattered World, and the upcoming December 2015 book Their Fractured Light. The series also includes a novella that comes between the first and second book, called The Night So Dark. Each book centers on different love stories set in the same fictional universe.

No stranger to collaborating on YA series, Kaufman also as an upcoming series starting October 2015 with The Lotus War trilogy Jay Kristoff. Spooner is the author of the Skylark series.
