Kate Middleton Makes First Post-Baby Appearance

by Loretta Donelan

It's official: Only nine hours after giving birth to her second child, Kate Middleton made her first post-birth appearance with her husband, Prince William, and their new daughter, outside of St. Mary's Hospital in west London. After going into labor early Saturday morning, the Duchess of Cambridge delivered a healthy baby girl at 8.34 AM BST on May 2, Kensington Palace confirmed in a statement on their official Twitter page. Just after 6 PM BST, she and Prince William emerged from the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital — the same hospital where Middleton gave birth to her first son George in July 2013 — and, after waving to fans, paparazzi, and reports camped outside, the family left at approximately 6:16 PM BST.

The Duchess of Cambridge looked happy, glowing, and fantastic as she presented her new daughter — whose name remains unknown at this time — to the world. But, of course, looking spectacular is kind of her forté, so no surprised there — she's Kate Middleton! The Duchess wore a pale yellow outfit, perfect for the occasion and for the season.

Additionally, the radiance is to be expected; remember how she looked after giving birth to Prince George? Middleton always emanates a happy glow, and the birth of her second child has only heightened it. According to Kensington Palace's official Twitter, she and her family will return to their home in Kensington Palace, where Prince George is waiting for them.

Congrats to Kate and Will!
