Reunited and It Feels So Good

by Tanya Ghahremani

This is pretty adorable casting news. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adventureland duo Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg will reunite in American Ultra , the new action comedy from Project X director Nima Nourizadeh. Even better, they'll be playing a couple! Cue fangirl freakout.

The film will reportedly follow Eisenberg's character, Mike, described as an "unmotivated stoner" who lives with his girlfriend Phoebe (Stewart) in a "sleepy" little town. Sleepy Hollow? It doesn't say, so we'll just assume YES. Anyway, one night, "their lives take an unexpected turn" when Mike becomes the target of a super-secret government operation to have him killed, due to something that happened in his past. It sounds awesome already, and we don't even know who else is in it!

"Simply put, American Ultra will be the most fun you can possibly have in a movie theater without the use of drugs, fireworks or canola oil," producer Anthony Bregman commented to THR. Fair enough, I'm holding him to that. Even better though — Stewart and Eisenberg have great chemistry on screen as we already know from Adventureland, so this is sure to be, at the very least, enjoyable to watch. Twilight aside, they also both seem to have good taste in films, so color me intrigued.

Also worth noting: This is actually the second Kristen Stewart-related casting news today. According to The Wrap, Stewart also accepted a small role in Tim Blake Nelson's Anesthesia earlier on Monday, which follows a group of NYC students whose lives are touched by a philosophy professor. Good for her.

Now, before I go — you were probably going to look this up on YouTube, so here you go. In honor of Stewart and Eisenberg... you know you were thinking the same thing.
