The 17 Best Red Carpet Moments of 2013
If you're anything like me, 1) ugh, I'm so sorry and 2) you love the red carpet segment before award shows. Yeah, gowns are cool to look at, but I'm all about the candid, strange moments that happen on that carpet. Celebrities say/do/wear the darndest things! Also, red carpets can feel like a Petri dish or a microcosm of sorts. I don't know science. Bear with me. It's an assortment of famous people thrown into a contained environment! We get to watch them interact with one another! We get to watch them side-eye one another! We get to watch young celebs react to legendary celebs! And vice versa! Everything is magical!
The following are the best red carpet moments of 2013. And no, the Mani Cam didn't make the list. Sorry, Mani Cam fans! I'm sure there's a super cut of Mani Cam moments somewhere out there on the Internet. I digress. Best red carpet moments of 2013. Let's do this.
Ciara Brings the 'Body Party'
When Ciara stepped onto the red carpet at the BET Awards, I had a moment. I actually dropped the sandwich I was eating. Everyone knows she has one of the most rockin' bods out there, but JEEZ. She wore a teensy, tiny top that showed off her toned everything; a tight pencil skirt that only emphasized the existing perfection; and a short, curly hairstyle that framed her gorgeous mug.
A Danity Kane Reunion
The group announced their reunion on the VMAs red carpet. My TV set itself on fire because it realized that was the best thing that'd ever happen on its screen.
Jennifer Lawrence at the Oscars
JLaw won the Academy Award for Best Actress that night, but her trek down the red carpet earned her the superlative of "Most Likable." Every hilarious and genuine thing that came out of her mouth made me sadder and sadder because I don't get to call her my friend. She's just the coolest.
Quevenzhané Wallis's Puppy Purse
The darling young star made a fashion CHOICE during awards season: the puppy purse. A different purse at every show! Yes! As a former teddybear backpack-sporting 90s kid, I was all about Wallis's accessories. She even started a puppy purse trend. I can't. I CAN'T. She's the best.
Miley Cyrus's Pre-VMAs Meltdown
This happened off of the red carpet, but in Miley: The Movement, the gal of the year had a bit of a breakdown. She freaked out because her red carpet entrance was botched (which, in her defense, any time you're in a stressful situation, even the littlest things can set you off), and proceeded to yell at her bodyguard? driver? on the phone. But then, Miley exited the car and turned on the charm/stuck out her tongue like nothing was wrong.
Aaron Paul Takes His Mom to the Emmys
It's never not endearing when a celeb takes his/her mom to an award show, and Aaron Paul at the Emmys was no exception. He and his mom Darla were too sweet. The man behind Jesse Pinkman was already a fan favorite, but this moment didn't hurt his standing: "She's just so incredible and has always been so supportive … I just kinda chased after my dream, and she was always there to support me." AWWW!

Ariana Grande's VMAs Pre-show Performance
Ariana Grande showed off her amazeballs voice before the award show and I promptly created an iCal reminder to buy her CD when it dropped.
Charlize Theron Debuts Her Pixie Cut
She wasn't the first to rock the look, but Charlize Theron's short haircut at the Oscars melted my brain. So. Stupidly. Pretty. For a brief moment, we were like, "Miley who?" Just kidding. We never forgot about Miley.
Janelle Monae Looks Flawless as Usual
This isn't surprising, but Janelle Monae dressed to kill at the BET Awards. I literally gasped when I saw her. Her all-white tuxedo was very very, and she topped off the look with a sparkly, spider-like choker. I need that choker. Oh, she also brought her beautiful face, too.
Eric Stonestreet and Ryan Seacrest Talk Zits
I love talking skincare, so I was all ears when Stonestreet and Seacrest discussed at-home acne remedies at the Emmys. Seacrest recommended toothpaste. He's one of the more successful men in Hollywood, and he uses toothpaste. I assume he can afford any skincare product, but hey. Whatever works, works.
Accidental Twinsies! Make that Tripletsies!
DJ Drama, J. Cole, and Brandon T. Jackson all wore the same Versace sweater to the BET Awards. So awkward. At my senior prom, three other girls showed up in MY dress, so I can relate.

Sally Field and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Are the Best
The Lincoln costars carpooled to the Oscars. In a fancy limo, of course, but that didn't make things any less adorable. Sally Field even helped JGL tie his bow tie. ACK CUTENESS OVERLOAD.
Jennifer Lopez Does the Angelina Jolie
This wasn't the first year JLo turned heads at the Grammys, but this time, it wasn't Versace. Instead, it was an Anthony Vaccarello dress that showed off her right leg. JLo, you're a gorgeous, fierce woman, but Angie Jolie did The Leg Dress first. Side note: Jolie's Leg Dress was Versace, as was the infamous gown JLo wore in 2000. Versace makes a memorable dress, that's for damn sure.
Ke$ha Gets 'Dumb and Dumber'
Ke$ha and her little brother wore blue and orange suits, respectively, to the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. They looked AWESOME. What a lovely homage to Lloyd and Harry!
Giuliana & Connie Can't Fall Into the Gap
During the Emmys red carpet, Giuliana Rancic and Connie Britton commiserated about their pre-fame retail jobs. Rancic explained, "I tried to work at the Gap, but I couldn't fold." Britton added, "It's all about folding … I am a terrible folder."
Kristen Stewart on Crutches
It's been a tough couple of years for K. Stew, so I don't want to laugh at her. However, I couldn't get enough of her hobbling around the Oscars red carpet on crutches. She just seemed so human. Oh, right! She is a human.
