The 'Crossroads' Red Carpet Fashion Was Everything We Loved About 2002

The red carpet fashion at the 2002 Crossroads premiere was everything we adored about the early '00s. We got baby Mae Whitman, Aaron Carter's choker, Justin Timberlake's curls, and Britney Spears wearing a pink leather newsboy cap. Is there really anything else we could have asked for? Red carpets have (devastatingly) gotten a lot more formal since the early aughts, so let's take a look back at all the amazingly bizarre fashion choices our favorite stars made back when Spears, Taryn Manning, and Zoe Saldana were all singing "I Love Rock & Roll" together.

The Couple of The Year

Between the baby pink leather cap and a long ruffled shirt in a matching color, Spears was so 2002. BUT LOOK AT THE HAND HOLDING. These two were the #Kimye of the early ‘00’s. Ah, young pop star love.

Taryn Manning

Manning choose a black printed dress with a plunging neckline. Not as outrageous as Spears’ choice, but she looks flawless just the same.

Anson Mount

We loved Ben! So moody, but so endearing. He looked mighty dapper on the red carpet.

Zoe Saldana's Full Look

Saldana is flawless. Amidst a sea of to-be-regretted fashion choices, of course she stuck with a classic.

Melissa Joan Hart

Hart’s top is giving us a crazy amount of ‘00s flashback. This may not be one of her most glamorous looks, but Clarissa can do no wrong.

A few years after “Aaron’s Party,” came out, Aaron Carter was still the teen dream. You know you swooned over that necklace.
