Kate's Fave Maternity Brand is Coming to the U.S.
For all those expectant moms who have been fawning over Kate Middleton's flawless pregnancy photos and maternity style, you can now dress your baby bump in the same chic threads. The Duchess's favorite maternity brand, Seraphine, is planning a U.S. expansion which means you can totally steal Middleton's pre-baby style. Post-birth bouncy blowout, not included, unfortunately.
Seraphine, a UK based maternity clothing brand, has been Kate Middleton's go-to wardrobe through both her first pregnancy with Prince George and these last nine months when she was carrying Princess Charlotte. Cecile Reinaud, the founder of the line, has been blessed by something she calls, The Kate Effect — the reoccurring phenomenon that when the Duchess is photographed in one of her pieces, it sells out almost immediately.
"The Kate effect is huge and we have been enjoying a 400% growth in sales since it became public that Kate bought Seraphine dresses back in April 2013," Reinaud told Hello! And now, us Yanks can get in on the glam baby bump action, too.
Seraphine currently has one New York City-based store and the company has big plans for more. Within the next three years, Seraphine plans to open another NYC store, plus 10 others within the U.S. Reinaud's new shoe collection, ShoeTherapy, is also slated to launch in the U.S. early next year. So, start picking out your favorite pieces now by looking back on some of Kate's most fashionable baby bump moments!
1. Purple Coat
With a trendy, plum tweed coat, the Duchess proves that a pregnant belly doesn't have to equal nine months of miu-mius.
2. Print Mania
Back in the day, expectant moms were told to pull back on the busy prints in order to not call attention to that baby bump. But, according to Reinaud, Kate Middleton and other celebs have "changed the perception that you are big and you should just hide.”
3. LBD
Who said that the LBD has to be retired during pregnancy? Not Seraphine.
4. Baby Blue Coatdress
You have Seraphine to blame for that baby blue coat that sparked all those "It's a boy!" rumors.
5. Affordably Chic
This $79 Seraphine steal sold out minutes after the debut of the royal family's portrait. Maybe it'll be back in stock by the time the U.S. stores open their doors?
