Diane Keaton Keeps Sunscreen In Her Pocket And Prefers Nail Stickers Over Polish

Sometimes, it's hard to remember how important wearing sunscreen is, especially when all you want to do is lay out in the sun and get that hard earned tan you've been wanting all winter long. But Diane Keaton's sunscreen regimen is something that we've all got to take note of. As someone whose been through the worst of the worst when it comes to the sun, Keaton is definitely worth listening too.

After going through two major skin cancer diagnoses — the first at 21 — Keaton doesn't go anywhere without her favorite L'Oreal sunscreen. "I just keep it in my pocket," Keaton said, about the Silky Sheer Face Lotion with SPF 50. That's right, I said 50. And she applies it a few times throughout the day. But just like me (and probably many of you), when she was younger, sunscreen wasn't on her to-do list. "Back in my 20s, I didn't pay attention much," Keaton said. "I didn't research and I didn't really care and that was stupid because it's dogged me my entire life, even recently. I didn't start sun care until my 40s."

Just like her sun routine has grown over the years, so has other portions of her beauty ways. As of late, Keaton has started favoring nail strips over actual polish. The 69-year-old beauty picks out strips like a black and white houndstooth, which is so fitting of her style. And her reasoning? Because they don't chip. Genius.

I feel like I want to take Keaton's advice because I don't wear sunscreen, like ever (I know, I know, it's terrible). Mostly because of the smell, but that can't be what stops me from protecting my skin. And for anyone else out there making the same mistake as me, heed Keaton's words. Protect your skin now, so you don't regret it later.
