This Wins The Bonkers Hair Prize For Cannes 2015
All the hopefuls for the "craziest wig of the year" prize can go home now. Russian actress Elena Lenina wins the most insane hair title at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Specifically she wore a jaw-droppingly large double-bun— a bun so prodigious, so death-defying and subversive that it deserves a Palme d'Or. Said bun is just one updo in her oeuvre of old-school-bananas styles.
Lenina walked the red carpet at the Mad Max: Fury Road premiere on Friday with two crimped buns the size of genetically modified melons atop her head. From the side, it vaguely resembled a the ears of a Murakami mouse. From the front, it was more of a cornflower globe. It's my guess that plenty of people would also view this construction as the hair-bows to end all hair-bows. The very day before, Lenina wore what looked to be nearly a foot-tall cone-shaped wig to complement a dress that resembled the gown of The White Witch from The Chronicles of Narnia. Whether or not you're into this 'do, you really gotta it to this lady. She can never be accused of not YOLO-ing hard.
After all, she has been showing up on red carpets with some pretty insane undoes for years. Here are all the crazy Elena Lenina styles that you may have missed.

The crimped hair transitions perfectly from being a unicorn horn to being two massive spheres.

SO. MANY. JEWELS.
Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy Of A Plains Indian) Premiere 2013
My guess is that the inspiration for this 'do was a tube of lipstick, or maybe a silver bullett.
