The Most Popular Swimsuit Style In Every State
Summer is right around the corner, which means it's time to revamp our swimsuit collections. With so many shapes and styles out there, it seems nearly impossible to choose a favorite swimwear trend. Thankfully, T.J.Maxx and Marshalls conducted a survey to uncover the most popular swimsuit styles across the country, broken down by state, and the results may surprise you.
The survey consisted of three categories which had women choose between one-piece or two-piece, solid or printed, and finally overall style. Some of the most popular bathing suit styles across the board were halter, sporty, and retro — which can manifest in a myriad of different looks including high-waisted bottoms and tankini tops. I was a bit surprised, though, that cutout suits didn't get the majority vote, since they are pretty much everywhere you turn nowadays. Additionally, most states favored a one-piece over the bikini (a whopping 70 percent!), which seems like a big shift from what we see on Instagram.
Personally, I tend to go for girly, patterned two-piece bathing suits, so I was surprised to discover that most New Yorkers favor a one piece sporty style in a solid color. But hey, that doesn't mean I can't rock both! Here are some more highlights from the results.
