Nicole Warne's VC Polo Classic Outfit Is So Cool

by Erin Mayer

If you're not at the Veuve Clicquot polo match this afternoon than you're probably scrolling through social media trying to live vicariously through the attendants (perhaps with your own glass of bubbly in hand?). Nicole Warne's VC Polo Classic outfit, photographed by Fashionista, caught my attention while I was catching up on Instagram, and oh boy, do I love it. Her full-skirted Delpozo dress might not be your typical summer outfit, but it's so quirky cool and totally works for such a high-society event.

Warne, if you don't know, is the face behind the blog Gary Pepper Girl. For the Polo Classic, she chose to wear a dramatic dress from Delpozo's Spring 2015 collection (Look 9, if you're a runway show nerd like myself). It features a strapless black bodice with a cut out beneath and a swishy circle skirt with geometric white and green designs around the hem, but the real kicker is that it appears to be worn over a crisp white collared button down for a trompe l'oeil layering effect. Told you this wasn't your average sundress!

The blogger paired her look with plaid heels, a jaunty sunhat, and black aviator sunglasses, making for a highly unique ensemble. Check it out below.

Doesn't she look absolutely divine? I can't get over it. Too bad people would probably give me some serious side-eye if I showed up at a run-of-the-mill Fourth of July barbecue dressed like that.
