ASOS' New Collection Is A Summer Must-Have

by Christie Drozdowski

As the result of a global design competition organized by the online retailer ASOS and Textile Federation, a lifestyle brand that has collaborated with ASOS in the past, a new 11-piece women's wear collection will launch June 8 and it's just about ideal for Bohemian vibes this summer.

The print-driven design collection will feature dresses, t-shirts, shorts, and jumpsuits designed by the four winners of the competition — each of whom is a student of design. The competition, held for the last four years, aims to discover and give recognition to talented, emerging designers around the world. This year's winners are Chloe Baird from Glasgow Clyde College, Odette Steele from London College of Fashion, Santiago Garimo from Venezuela’s University of Zulia, and Ezoe Robinson from Central Saint Martins in London.

The winning pieces for the collection are interpretations of the competition's theme of "Chinese Whispers," for which the competitors were prompted to draw inspiration from a specific mood board and a list of key words. As a result, the line features bright colors and strong, eye-catching prints perfect for summer.

Each of the four winners received £500 per print design that made the cut, and the opportunity to see their work produced and sold on ASOS's site, where they will also be featured as guest designers.

The collection will be sold exclusively on ASOS with a price range of $43-77.

The t-shirt above can also be paired with matching shorts for a great co-ord set, and the incredibly strong black and white hues make for a great statement piece.

The bright yellow, patterned jumpsuit above would likely work wonderfully as a day piece for a fun and cheery addition to your summer wardrobe, too.

Judging by the collections that have been sold from past competitions, we might see some of the pieces be produced for ASOS' Curve line as well. Here's hoping!
