Rihanna Drops Dark New Images From Her Upcoming "What Now" Music Video

Ever the tease, Rihanna released new images from her upcoming "What Now" music video, which is set to drop this week, and, spoiler alert — they're intense. The singer, who was most recently seen in Barbados drinking out of a high-heeled shoe because she's cooler than both you and I, leaked the new pictures through her Instagram account with simple, hashtag-happy captions: "#WHATNOW #VIDEO #comingthisFRIDAY."

According to The Daily Mail , "What Now" has been called the "stand-out song" on her newest album, Unapologetic, and is likely about he human scum/real-life garbage of an ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown. The two have, of course, broken up — this time apparently for good, but you never know — but the drama between the two is very much alive in the song's lyrics: For instance, one verse reads, "I found the one, he changed my life/ But was it me that changed/ And he just happened to come at the right time/ I'm supposed to be in love/ But I'm numb again."

In the leaked images, Rihanna appears fairly emotional and dark, wearing an all-black ensemble and enough black eyeliner to make Taylor Momsen proud. Prior to releasing today's images, Rihanna previously leaked an image two months ago of her on set, hanging out in a bathtub in Thailand — so take that as you will.

You can check out the pics out below — the video for "What Now" is set to be released this Friday.
