He Has An Announcement

Here's a lovely little story to end your day with: In a new Out profile, 30 Rock and Weeds star Maulik Pancholy announced that he's gay, and just celebrated a major milestone with his longtime partner. Congrats!

"I just celebrated my nine-year anniversary with my partner," Pancholy told Out, which just published its 19th annual Out 100 List, which ranks the most compelling gay people of 2013. "It feels like a nice time to be celebrating something like that, especially on the heels of the DOMA and Prop 8 decisions."

It's also great to see so many celebrities very openly talking about their sexual orientation in the media — after all, this year has been a huge gamechanger for same-sex marriage.

Pancholy is perhaps best known for portraying Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin)'s loving assistant Jonathan on 30 Rock, but he also had a role as a student-turned-drug dealer-turned-openly gay and proud drug dealer, Sanjay Patel. Currently, he works as a voiceover artist for Disney's Phineas & Ferb. As Wetpaint points out, Pancholy has never openly spoken about his sexuality before.

Others who made the list this year: Glee's Jonathan Groff, Orange Is the New Black's Laverne Cox, "Same Love" singer Mary Lambert, Sir Ian McKellan, and Spock himself, George Takei.
