Melissa McCarthy's New Clothing Line Seven7 Rocks

by Melanie Richtman

Melissa McCarthy is killing it these days. Ever since she stole the show in Bridesmaids, she has been one of the top women in comedy, and now, she is adding fashion designer to her extensive resume. Melissa McCarthy designed a plus-size collection called Melissa McCarthy Seven7 that will hit stores this August.

McCarthy first teased her line by wearing a patterned maxi dress from the collection to the premiere of her movie Spy. Today, she gave fashion editors a sneak peek at the collection, to which it received great reviews.

While many plus size women stay away from patterns, McCarthy embraces them—her collection focuses on fun prints, including a very stylish kimono/top combo that McCarthy wore while presenting the line to press and a great selection of patterned pants. But the prints aren't her favorite part of the collection. McCarthy told People that her favorite piece in the collection is a sweater that features a sketch of a cat and "meow" that was actually drawn by her daughter.

McCarthy's friends Brian Atwood and Julius Poole stopped by the event today and shared some supportive pictures on Instagram, teasing us even more. While the collection won't be on shelves until August, I hope McCarthy and her friends will keep sharing sneak peeks via social media, because I know the world is getting anxious to see it.
