Matt's Outlook On Caitlyn Jenner Is Inspirational

If you don't know who Orange Is The New Black and How To Get Away With Murder actor Matt McGorry is, then you must acquaint yourself with him, immediately. Not only is Matt McGorry a self-proclaimed feminist, who is repeatedly standing up for gender equality, but Matt McGorry supports Caitlyn Jenner and the transgender community in an amazing way. After Jenner's Vanity Fair cover reveal on Monday, the actor logged onto social media, where he is often vocal about important issues and current events, to talk about how not only everyone should support Jenner and other transgender individuals, but how to do it right and respectfully.

First, McGorry took to Facebook and wrote beautifully,

It takes a great deal of courage to live as one's true self. Especially in a world that often disregards and is hateful towards who you identify with being. Congrats on an amazing show of bravery and may you inspire others to be and and love themselves as well! #CallMeCaitlyn.

For McGorry that seemingly wasn't enough, because he wants to ensure others aren't sticking to the stigmas, which sometimes follow the transgender community. In addition to encouraging others to watch Jenner's Diane Sawyer interview as a way to educate themselves, he believes others shouldn't put too much focus on Jenner's looks, because that's not what's important here. What's important is that Jenner is an inspirational and courageous woman, who will hopefully bring tolerance and acceptance to the world.

Here are the string of tweets McGorry shared:

As he says himself, he's not an "expert" about this particular issue, but he's trying to educate others, including himself, about something that we should all be more aware of. On Wednesday, McGorry continued his transgender and cisgender conversation. For those who are commenting on Jenner's beauty, even if they mean it as a compliment, the OITNB star feels we need to tread lightly with such remarks and really think before we speak. Here is McGorry's post about that, which he spent two hours composing:

What I admire so much about the actor is that he doesn't label himself as an all-knowing individual, but he's willing to learn about issues that, unfortunately, our society is not used to discussing on a daily basis. In addition, his love and acceptance of others is something to be truly admired. Hopefully, with people like Caitlyn Jenner and Matt McGorry the world will soon become a more accepting place.
