Aside from the obvious differences in the Gucci 2016 resort collection from other resort collections out there, several of the models walked the Gucci runway wearing glasses, which is something you don’t see too often. Being a fellow four eyes myself (what, what), I greatly appreciated this. And I’m not saying this just because I wear glasses — the models looked super cool in their eyewear.
Seriously, I was envious of their vintage styles, and I would love to get my hands on some similar frames! Ranging from cat-eye to huge and squared, these frames were unique, much like the rest of the collection.
The entire line had this very vintage nerdy-cool kind of vibe, and I must say, I dig it. The new Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, did not disappoint with the clothing he sent down the runway. Or the styling, because, like I said, those glasses were on point. Not to mention all of the jewels and headpieces that complemented the looks. There were deep colors and lush fabrics galore within these accessories, which made me feel inspired to branch out this spring.
See some of the runway’s best-styled looks below, and then find where you can shop similar frames, because that’s the first step to nailing the "straight of the Gucci resort runway" look. Then, top it off with tons more jewelry. Oh, and see about saving up for some of that Gucci label, too!
