The Tony Awards' 9 Best Body Positive Moments Celebrated Showing Off Your Arms On The Red Carpet
This year's Tony Awards red carpet was all about celebrating strong, beautiful arms. Celebs of all ages chose gowns that highlighted their lovely limbs, and every one rocked the exposure with confidence. Booties have been having a solid moment at award shows as of late, so it was nice to see the Tony Awards' most body positive moments giving some attention to an equally deserving part. From strapless to angled V-cuts to barely-there sheer sleeves, these stars proved that arms definitely deserve some time in the spotlight.
In a monochrome black flowy tube-style crop top and fitted trouser pants, Ashley Tisdale’s bare arm carpet moment was totally on point. Girl exudes confidence in her pics, and I love the contrast of a softer top with a structured pant. Bold and wonderful move, Tisdale!
Peters also chose a completely strapless green gown from Zac Posen, and moved across the carpet with a ton of grace paired with some serious fierceness. I love how simple and well-fitted the dress is, highlighting Peters’ gorgeous, healthy shape and toned arms. Go girl.
OK but honestly, when does Helen Mirren not look like a complete goddess? Mirren was so radiant in a white sheer-sleeved gown with lace finishes. The sleeves drew extra attention to her gorgeous arms, and Mirren owned the look with total poise.
Kat Dennings totally stunned in a goth chic black dress with lace sleeves. The star’s pale, bare arms looked flawless against the black details, and her smile was too radiant to miss. Also: Shout out to her and Groban for being the cutest red carpet couple ever.
Laura Bell Bundy
Laura Bell Bundy looked hot as heck on the carpet, choosing a playful black dress that mixed sheers and solids. The small, unique cap-style sleeves totally show off her arms, and based on her smile, she’s clearly okay with that. Also, Bundy is rocking all kinds of body-positive confidence tonight because apparently a bird accidentally pooped on her dress just before she hit the carpet!
Mulligan wore a strapless deep red dress with a really lovely and unexpected reverse scoopneck cut. The star looked dainty and confident, and chose to highlight her arms with a fun, chunky bracelet.
Anna Chlumsky was freaking fabulous in a mini v-cut topped eggplant dress. Her pose exudes “Yeah, I got this!” attitude, and can we talk about that popped elbow arm-on-hip power stance? Digging it digging it.
Bella Hadid also opted for a strapless dress tonight, and completely dazzled. Her simple dress proves that you don’t need to be flashy to make a statement.
Hudgens looked like a tropical goddess in flowy florals this evening. Her look was soft and sweet, and you could tell she felt gorgeous wearing it.
