There are parties and then there are par-tays! The upcoming NARS x Steven Klein makeup collection is much anticipated and the collab was advanced by a party that looks like it fell into the latter category. It was a stunning mix of art and fashion, with an emphasis on the visual via a series of artistic vignettes and installations where androgyny and blurred gender lines reigned supreme.

Klein is a revered fashion photographer whose work has been known to inspire shock and awe. His range with NARS is designed for holiday and will boast 23 limited edition pieces, which any NARSissist will want into her kit, sight unseen. The collection isn't set to bow until November, but I am all for getting things underway and celebrating in the here and the now.

The event was held at the Alder Manor in Yonkers, N.Y. and the guest list was a "Who's Who" in fashion, including Alexander Wang, Stephanie Seymour, Sky Ferreira, Coco Rocha, Anna Ewers, Anja Rubik, Andreja Pejic, and more.

Social media posts from the event have filled the fashion feeds, so if you weren't there, you can still pretend like you were, thanks to all the beautiful, arresting images.

Here are some of the most evocative of the bunch.

I love the Moulin Rouge vibe of it all.

Androgyny and erasing gender boundaries is so, so sexy.

Look, it's Seymour, wearing a graphic print dress.

Obsessed is right. This party certainly stoked the fires of excitement for this collection, which isn't arriving for five more months! Oh, the agony of having to hurry up and wait.

Interesting image... so many interpretations of domestic goddess-ery.
