Chanel's Perfume Ad Combines Fashion & Bowling

by Jessica Thomas

French fashion house Chanel has added a new perfume to its collection and released an adorable commercial to celebrate the launch of the fragrance, Chanel Eau Vive. The quirkiest part about the ad? It's set in a luxe bowling alley where bottles of perfume serve as bowling balls and pins. This might be the cutest Chanel perfume commercial we've seen yet.

Chance Eau Vive is the latest perfume in Chanel's Chance collection and features grapefruit, jasmine, and white musk scents. Director Jean-Paul Goude directed the 30-second ad, which features models Rianne Van Rompaey, Sigrid Agren, Cindy Bruna, and Romy Schonberger, who all wear matching Chanel outfits, naturally. It opens with Van Rompaey rolling an oversized bottle of Chance Eau Vive down the bowling lane, where it knocks over three more bottles of Chance perfume.

Chanel's ads are usually beautifully styled, and this one is no exception. A behind-the-scenes video posted on Chanel's YouTube channel shows the hours of work that went into making the commercial. While some ads, like last year's Coco Mademoiselle commercial starring Keira Knightley, tell a story, this Chanel commercial is a little lighter. Goude succeeds in his goal to transport viewers to a make-believe bowling alley, which you can check out in the ad below.
