by Jennifer Still

Update: In response to these reports, John Stamos' representative referred to the actor's Twitter, where Stamos posted the following comment on Saturday: "Thanks to everyone for their love & support. I'm home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care."

Previous: This is absolutely shocking. According to various reports published by a variety of outlets including The Hollywood Reporter and CNN, John Stamos was arrested on suspicion of a DUI and given a citation in Beverly Hills on Friday night, after police received reports of a reckless driver. The police reportedly pulled Stamos over at 7:45 p.m., and, after speaking with him, called upon the local fire department to evaluate his condition. The Full House alum was reportedly then transported to a nearby hospital and issued the citation before being left in the facility's care.

As THR reports, Stamos was alone in the vehicle at the time of the incident, and he reportedly immediately identified himself to the arresting officer, Sergeant Max Subin. While it's certainly a relief to know that there were no reported injuries to either Stamos or anyone else, the seriousness of the situation cannot be downplayed: As detailed in stats released by the CDC, more than 30 people die every day in alcohol-related auto accidents in the U.S. alone.

According to CNN, the citation Stamos was reportedly issued upon his arrest has ordered him to appear in person at the LAX Courthouse in Los Angeles, Calif., on September 11, 2015.
