Selena Gomez Teases New Single On Instagram

by Kenya Foy

Although I'm not a professional singer, album releases have taught me one thing about myself: I don't like to be teased. Also, I'm pretty confident that major singers employ a unique team of public relations specialists who I decided I want to begin calling "professional teasers," because there is literally no other explanation for the manner in which Selena Gomez teased her new single, "Good For You." On Friday, the 22-year-old singer shared a couple of mysterious photos on her Instagram page that revealed a peek at the set of her upcoming "Good For You" music video. After seeing the photos, honestly I'm just as confused by these new stills as I am by the shower selfie she recently posted.

Despite Gomez's post about revealing the whole truth and nothing but the truth, it still seems like the singer isn't quite ready to expound on that statement with specifics. Instead, she's dropping even more hints in the form of a couple of photos, one of which is so blurry that I'm suddenly reminded of my overdue annual vision checkup. So now, on top of being relentlessly teased, I’m totally clueless and about to go blind from intensely analyzing Gomez’s pictures.

Since I could really use another set of eyes, let’s check them out together, shall we?

PHOTO #1

After arguing with myself about whether this is an X-ray in disguise or a curtain in a room, I'm forced to second the sentiments of a commenter who asked, "What is that?" Does this curtain conceal all that is good for you, Selena? Are you singing about closing the curtain on a chapter of your life that hasn't been so good for you? TELL ME NOW, SELENA.

PHOTO #2

OK, now we're getting somewhere... I think. I'm just relieved I can actually make something of this photo. Gomez is facing the sky, sitting on a stool and she's either really distraught or she's embracing whatever is good for her — in spirit, that is.

SIGH. This should be the point where I say that this is all starting to make sense, but it's not. At this point, any further investigative work is probably best left to the private detectives of the world, because these teasers are just way too vague for anyone else to possibly understand. Throw us a few more hints, Selena — pretty please?
