Fan Bingbing Is Winning The Fashion Game Lately

by Rosie Narasaki

Seriously, is Fan Bingbing ever not fashionable? She always looks amazing in the front row of fashion shows, her Cannes Film Festival looks are kind of unbeatable, and she can do drama like no one else — oh, and I almost forgot to mention the fact that she basically won the Met Gala. Well, for Bingbing, another week, another fabulous crop of couture: As per usual, the international superstar has had quite the fashionable weekend. She started things off with a perfectly-deployed lacy Ashi Studio Couture gown at a press conference for Yang Gui Fei (AKA Lady of the Dynasty, her latest period film). It featured a perfectly-deployed high-low hemline, a stylishly plunging neckline, and an absolutely gorgeous embroidered texture. Of course, she paired the look with regal Chopard jewels — she even donned a tiara at one point!

Next, she went bold (yes, bold even for the ever-adventurous Bingbing) in a showstopping ball gown by Stéphane Rolland at the opening ceremony of the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival. The dress had every detail you can possibly imagine: It was burgundy velvet, with an ultra-voluminous skirt featuring a sheer panel. Oh, and it also sported a fetchingly asymmetrical neckline, and a hemline detailed with three-dimensional black flowers. Who knew so much could happen in one dress?

The crown really is fitting, isn't it?

Frankly kind of awe-inspiring, no? Bingbing is probably one of the few women on this planet who could pull off a dress like this.
