The Spice Girls Reunite — Again!

by Lia Beck

It's been a looooong time since the Spice Girls' prime, which means that there have been numerous Spice Girls reunions and mini-reunions over the years. The reunited for a tour. The reunited to perform at the London Olympics. Two of them reunited at Geri Halliwell's recent wedding. But regardless of how many times the Spice Girls reunite and what combination of them participates in said reunions, I will ALWAYS be more than willing to look at photos of the gang back together again, which is precisely what brings me here today: to spread the girl power reunion love with everyone else who was a bit too obsessed with Ginger back in the day. Geri "Ginger" Halliwell, Emma "Baby" Bunton, and Melanie "Sporty" Chisholm hung out at the Isle of Wight music festival over the weekend and they were thoughtful enough to share pics with the world.

There's a few great things about the photos the ladies shared. For one, they all clearly still really love each other and get along, which is great to see. When Halliwell left the band, I thought that was it. My nine-year-old self didn't realize that just because someone leaves the best band of all time, it doesn't mean their relationship with the other members can't continue. As I saw it, Ginger leaving the other Girls was like me leaving my friends at day camp — you never see those people again — so it still warms my heart to see them getting along. Even if this is the, like, millionth reunion they've had.

Another great thing about the pictures is that the Spice Girls have really caught up with the times. Look how 2015 they look! (By which, I mean, they're channeling a bunch of different decades a look like they fell out of an Urban Outfitters catalog.) There's no platforms in sight! No Union Jack dress! Oh, how the times have changed!

But, what might be the best thing about this reunion is that it proves definitively that they still love peace signs. I wouldn't want it any other way.

Take a look:
