Mindy Kaling Rocked A Rose-Printed Dress
Floral is one of those things that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. But Mindy Kaling's floral-printed dress definitely worked. I think she's figured out the recipe for how to wear floral: medium-sized flowers scattered across the print. And this is no surprise since Kaling has really been hitting the mark ever since her show was picked up by Hulu — or maybe it's all because of her latest hairdo.
While promoting her new movie Inside Out on Good Morning America, Kaling was caught wearing a fantastic floral number. The beige-based dressed as outfitted with maybe 20 long-stemmed roses (stems included), which is something that I don't see much when it comes to floral-prints. And I'm not sure why the stems aren't included on clothes, because it makes for a super elongating look. To go with the red roses, Kaling donned a red rose lipstick and little heels that matched perfectly. And although her bag looked a little more orange that red, it all worked together great. The dress was the slimming midi length, with quarter length sleeves and a simple scoop neck.
If you aren't convinced, this look is actually quite simple to pull off. It all comes down to finding the right print, which I've taken the liberty of doing for you, so, you're welcome.
Here are 4 ways to replicate Mindy Kaling's floral look.
White Floral Jersey Dress
The best part about this dress is the skater cut. To me, that makes it easy to transition from day to night. (White Floral Print Skater Dress, $100, riverisland.com).
Rose-Printed Pleated Dress
This black lace trim around this little pleated number is really cute and adds to the clean lines of the dress. It's definitely perfect for your next summer wedding. (Adrianna Papell Rose-Printed Pleated Dress, $160, macys.com).
Fitted Rose Printed Dress
Much like the first dress, this dress is very red and white. But I love the fitted bodice because of the great shape it will give anyone. (Alex Marie Fifi Rose-Printed Dress, $77.40, dillards.com).
Rose-Printed Flare Dress
This dress is definitely my favorite, because instead of being primarily white, it's primarily black. And having that black as the base color, really makes the red roses pop. And it's on sale! (Round Next Sleeveless Rose-Printed Flare Drees, $24.67, romwe.com).
