Because of media, models and celebrities are often seen as "untouchables" who have superhuman looks and amazing senses of fashion. However, in interviews and behind the scenes footage, we see that these celebrities are just regular people like us. In fact, I feel like the realest of them all has to be Gigi Hadid, who recently shared her super body positive outlook on bikini bodies with Refinery 29.
When Hadid was asked if she had any advice for girls trying really hard to achieve an "ideal bikini summer bod," Hadid responded by saying that it's all about self-acceptance rather than trying to change yourself. She said that you have to, "find how you feel your best — whether you feel better when you’re eating gluten-free or whatever it is," and she joked, "I feel better when I eat a burger every other night. (laughs) I think it’s cool to find what makes you feel healthy all year-round. That should be your beach body. It’s not about being skinny for three months out of the year; it’s about feeling your best the whole year." Preach it sista!
But she doesn't only get real about body positivity — she also shows her love for burgers and fries. She admitted that sometimes she enjoys being able to, "sit in my hotel room by myself, order fries, and do my own makeup." Miss Hadid clearly knows how to get her honesty and realness across in the most personable way and I feel like that's what makes her feel more like a relatable person with a successful job rather than an untouchable celeb.
Hadid is such a great role model for the younger generation and dropped a lot of positive knowledge in her interview, so be sure to check out the full chat over on Refinery 29.
