A Chance To Shop Your Fave +Size Bloggers' Closets

by Liz Black

Although plus size clothing has evolved greatly over the last few years, and even more so in comparison to what my mother had to pick from when she was younger — like shopping sad sacks in the "chubbies" section — there's clearly always more room for improvement. Fortunately for budget-conscious babes in the New York City area, there's one easy way to score some stylish goodies for cheap this week at NY Curvy Closet! A bunch of your favorite plus size bloggers are having an awesome shopping event on July 9th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

One of the most frequent complaints I tend to hear when it comes to fashion options above a size 12 is always about the inflated cost. Whether it's a "fat tax" placed on larger sizes of the exact same design (but only in the women's department, not the men's, of course) or just bloated prices attached to basic pieces at "specialty" stores, it can frequently feel like you're being financially punished because you don't want to walk around naked all day!

Everything at NY Curvy Closet — including designer pieces — will be marked under $50, with most items priced waaaay less than that. Not only is the free event a fantastic way to snag a new wallet-friendly wardrobe, but you can also sip delicious cocktails, win awesome prizes, and meet your fave fashion bloggers, all in one place!

Not familiar with any of the bloggers listed but you still want to shop? Then now's your chance to scout them out and plan your purchasing accordingly. Of course, not everything you see on their respective websites will be sold at the event, but you can get an inkling on which woman's style might mesh best with your existing wardrobe. Keep reading to learn a little more about each sartorially-savvy style blogger!

Beck Delude Of Manfattan:

The Manfattan Project originally began as the first street-style blog focused solely on documenting plus size fashion around Manhattan, but when Beck Delude took it over 2011, she transformed it to also include an account of her personal style.

Ty Alexander Of GorgeousInGrey:

Best known for her grey mane (yes, that's her real hair color!), Ty Alexander blogs about everything, from fashion and beauty to food and technology. She's contributed to many well-known sites including Hello Beautiful, The Huffington Post, and xoJane. She recently began working with Beautiful Textures as the Editorial Director for their new vertical, TalkingTexture.com.

Liz Black (That's Me!) Of PsItsFashion:

She also designed a collection of 11 plus size dresses for the Australian event wear company, Fame and Partners.

Danielle Young Of Rhapsodani:

Southern transplant Danielle Young has more to offer than just a great sense of dress, as the multi-talented maven is a stand-up comedian as well. This funny lady knows a thing or two about looking stylish on a dime, clearly apparent in the fashion section of her blog titled Chubby, Cheap, and Chic!

Meaghan O'Connor Of LittleLimeDress:

Meaghan O'Connor primarily works as a stylist to both the stars and the everyday woman, as well as styling editorial and product photo shoots. Check out her blog for ensemble examples and then set up a styling session with her in person, or even over Skype (yay, technology!).
