Get Ready To Scream At The 'Goosebumps' Trailer

by Maggie Malach

Raise your hand if the Goosebumps books scared you to tears as a kid. (I'd raise my hand, but I was too frightened to read them.) With R.L. Stine finding new readers on the Internet, it's no surprise that a new Goosebumps movie is in the works. In fact, the first Goosebumps movie trailer was released on Wednesday, and, even as an adult, it's guaranteed to chill you.

According to the movie's IMDB page, the premise is that "a young kid teams up with the niece of young adult horror author R.L. Stine after the writer's imaginary demons are set free on the town of Greendale, Maryland." Not only is R.L. Stine brought to life, but he's played by none other than Jack Black. The movie also features the talents of Halston Sage, Dylan Minnette, Amy Ryan and Ken Marino.

Of course, no Goosebumps movie would be complete without some spine-tinglingly scary moments. In just under two and a half minutes, we get quite a few of them from this trailer. Of course, there are classic Stine moments, like distant screams and suspicious characters. It's enough to make you crack out your old collection of the novels.

Goosebumps is appropriately headed to theaters on Oct. 16, just in time for Halloween. Until then, check out seven moments from the trailer that will still scare you as an adult.

When We Meet R.L. Stine

Oh, hey, Jack Black being super sketchy.

When Mysterious Screams Can Be Heard From The House Next Door

Trademark horror movie moment, but that doesn't make it any less scary.

When The House Gets Creepier

Why would you enter the dark house? Why?

When The Demons Are Unleashed

That was a bad idea.

When The Demons Attack

"Don't make a sound." *Screams anyway*

When The Demons Band Together

I spy the clown, who might be the creepiest of all of them.

Particularly The Lawn Gnomes

Okay, so this one is pretty funny, but still.
