Will Kim Kardashian Be At The ESPYs?

by Jaclyn Anglis

Aside from honoring the athletes who are at the top of their game, the ESPY awards pay special homage to sports figures who have overcome challenges off the field. Caitlyn Jenner, the former Olympian who came out as a transgender woman earlier this year, is being honored at the 2015 awards, so some people may be wondering if a certain selfie queen will also be at the awards show. It is rumored that Kim Kardashian will likely be at the 2015 ESPYs, according to multiple sources, including TMZ and The Daily Mail.

If Kardashian does show up, it is not super surprising news, considering Jenner is being honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, which goes to an athlete who has done something courageous in his or her life that transcends sports and athleticism. So, it's a big deal. On top of that, the award show will also mark 65-year-old's first public appearance as a trans woman. That's also a big deal. And considering Kardashian's steadfast support of Jenner's coming out experience, as well as her eagerness to be part of her parent's exploration of fashion and beauty, it seems only fitting the reality star would be there for support and cheerleading. Plus, it is another chance for Kardashian to be on the red carpet, which we all know she could probably never turn down. But this time, she definitely will be sharing a large portion of the spotlight if she does in fact attend.

The reality star is not the only family member who will reportedly be by Jenner's side as she takes her first brave, and probably glamorous, walk down the red carpet. Jenner will reportedly also be joined by her other children at the award ceremony, including Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, and Brody, Burt, and Cassandra Jenner. It is rumored that she will not, however, be joined by Kris Jenner or her other two ex-wives, as they "are not family anymore," according to TMZ. We will have to wait for the actual ceremony to see for sure, though, so keep your eyes peeled.

Say what you want about the Kardashians (and the Jenners, for that matter), but it is undeniable that if the family is there in support, this is an excellent show of solidarity. On top of that, it will also be a wonderful thing for the trans community to see a system of support and love — and on a major red carpet, no less.
