Claire Danes 2015 Emmys Outfit Should Be One Of These 5 Minimalist Showstoppers
The nominees for this year's Emmy Awards are finally in, and no surprise, Claire Danes snagged a Lead Actress nomination for her superb performance in Homeland. Since the spotlight will definitely be on her, the pressure is now on to plan for the most exquisite red carpet look, but what fabulous designer gown will she wear?
Danes usually plays it pretty safe in the fashion department, consistently opting for minimalist chic designs with simple silhouettes and muted colors. Recently though, the actress proved she has an edgy side, surprising us with daring out-of-the-box looks — such as the army green Marc Jacobs gown she wore to the SAG awards, or the romantic floral Valentino dress she rocked at the Golden Globes. Perhaps I was too quick to label her a Plain Jane?
Judging by her track record during the last Awards Season, it seems the 36 year-old is moving towards a more high-fashion direction, earning her the title of total fashion wildcard. When it comes to predicting her Emmys gown, your guess is as good as mine, but there are some trends she is an obvious fan of. So, will she stick to her classic minimalist roots? Or opt for something more risqué? Here are my predictions.
Ralph Lauren is the master of clean lines and simple silhouettes. This look from the Resort 2015 Collection combines the actress' love of simplicity with a few unique touches.
Danes has worn Valentino many times before on the red carpet, so she is clearly a fan of the designer. She has also proven to be a fan of the color red, so I can totally see her in this crimson-colored number.
Another trend Danes has been trying? Sequins. This muted jewel-encrusted gown from the 2015 Couture Collection would look stunning on her skin tone, don't you think?
If she is feeling daring this time around, I could see her opt for something like this stunning Atelier Versace. While the free-flowing silhouette is not her usual type, the pastel hue is. Besides, her gold locks and warm complexion would do wonders for this gown.
This Fall 2015 Couture gown is the one I hope she chooses. She actually donned a similar silhouette at the 2014 Met Gala, but in a much paler shade. This is what I call a show-stopping gown, worthy of a lead actress nominee. Fingers crossed she picks this!
