Solid & Striped Swimwear Is Getting A Preppy Boost

by Lindsey Rose Black

One high-end swimwear brand is about to get a fabulously preppy new touch as it prepares to launch a full lifestyle collection. According to Fashionista, former J. Crew designer Michelle Copelman is now Solid & Striped's design director. Copelman comes from an impressive background at Ralph Lauren, Marc by Marc Jacobs and, of course, J. Crew. Her eye is sure to elevate Solid & Striped's already iconic brand.

Creating the role specifically for Copelman, Solid & Striped knew it wanted an experienced lifestyle pro on the team before launching its new products. Starting in the spring of 2016, the brand begin to sell beach bags, towels, hats, and possibly even footwear and sunglasses.

As for why Copelman is the perfect choice for the dream job, Isaac Ross, founder of Solid & Striped, said, "Michelle brings with her an incredible level of experience, as well as a fresh perspective. She has a strong understanding of our brand, our vision and our customer, and we are both eager to grow our product assortment, enter new categories and most importantly design collections that continue to excite our customers." Yay for such exciting new growth with such a solid design team!

P.S., if this is your first time hearing about Solid & Striped, prepare to fall in love. Their swimsuits are stunners and I can only imagine how epic their lifestyle offerings will be thanks to the help of Copelman. There's still totally time to justify a swimwear purchase before summer ends. Do it!

I mean, let's talk about this low-key gorgeous one-piece.

And this dreamy high-rise bikini with a pin-up girl vibe.

Don't even pretend you don't want this cute two piece. Gigi Hadid is clearly into it!

And after a long beach day, their sweet sweater is super comfy for the drive home.

Can't wait to see what 2016 has in store!
