Charlotte Tilbury Releases Limited-Edition Makeup Collection Featuring Norman Parkinson Photographs

Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury has always been fascinated with Norman Parkinson's photography, often citing it as inspiration for her looks. After posting several of Parkinson's iconic photographs on her Instagram and befriending Parkinson's grandson Jake, Charlotte Tilbury decided to release a limited-edition line featuring Parkinson's prints on the packaging. And yes, it's just as beautiful as you could imagine.

Parkinson took many of the fashion world's most iconic photos for 50 years, spanning the 1930s to 1980s, working with some of the most popular models and actresses at the time, including Jerry Hall, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, and Linda Evangelista. Parkinson's work was featured in some of the most exclusive publications, like Vogue and the Pirelli calendar, and he collaborated with some of the greatest names in fashion, like Grace Coddington. After visiting the Parkinson archive of 75,000 negatives and 3,000 prints, Tilbury selected 5 of Parkinson's most iconic fashion photos, which were then incorporated onto a carefully designed set of exclusive products.

"It is a dream come true to feature his images on this series of compacts and makeup bags. It is something that I never thought would be possible, to feature so many iconic images on my products. I’m so proud of how each piece looks - like covetable vintage compacts that you can be proud to use in public," explains Tilbury. "The makeup bags are like carrying around a mini piece of art in the clutch of your hands. With the collaboration of the archive, we knew that we would honor Parkinson in the best light possible. I’m incredibly proud to be celebrating one of the fashion greats in this way, and bringing his work to life for a new millennial generation.”

For her collection, Tilbury focused on five iconic photographs and products that coincide with the photo's setting. For the pieces with Jerry Hall photographed in Jamaica, she created a bronzer, highlighter, and makeup bag. For the photo of Wenda Parkinson, she created a lip and cheek glow.

The Charlotte Tilbury x Norman Parkinson line is currently available at Bergdorf Goodman, where the collection was celebrated earlier this week. Tilbury even demonstrated the "Miss 1975" look on DJ Harley Viera-Newton, which you can watch below.
