Kylie Jenner's Graduation Outfit Was On-Brand

by Kali Borovic

Graduating high school is a major milestone in a person's life, and I can remember how important it was for me to find the perfect outfit. But Kylie Jenner's graduation outfit definitely blew mine completely out of the water. Actually, everything about the star's big day makes my own commencement look a little less exciting than I remember it being.

According to Vanity Fair, the 17-year-old reality star has been taking online classes and graduated on Tuesday, with fellow celebrities like Ryan Seacrest and Gigi Hadid there to help her celebrate. Naturally, the word-famous fashionista wouldn't wear just anything on her big day. She chose high-waisted distressed jeans, a black tank top, and matching Louboutins to sport beneath her cap and gown. Certainly a little different than the getup I rocked, that's for sure.

I can still remember my high school graduation like it was yesterday, even though it was actually four years ago. A lot has changed since then, and Jenner makes that apparent. Teens are chicer than ever these days (although being a mega-celebrity doesn't hurt). Her look might be a little bit — OK, a lot — more edgy than mine was, and she might have had waaay cooler guests at her party, but how different could these outfits really be? Let's break it down.

The Outfit: Kylie's Version

Can we just talk about the fact that she's wearing jeans on graduation day. JEANS! As in, the most casual thing you could possibly wear. Maybe I'm a little bit jealous that she looks so fierce, but I'm also genuinely confused. Jeans?! Ripped jeans?! OK, I'm done.

The Outfit: My Version

My outfit was a little less unique than Jenner's. Since my school made us wear white dresses and had a very strict "no jeans" policy, the best I could come up with was this number with a sweetheart neckline and a front tie.

The Makeup: Kylie's Version

The girl looks flawless. From her long lashes to her perfectly plump lips, there's no debating that she stunned on her graduation day. Also, note the stack of Cartier bracelets.

The Makeup: My Version

I was in a no-makeup phase right around the time of graduation. Although fresh-faced is totally in now, I would probably go back and share some Kylie-inspired makeup wisdom with my 18-year-old self.

The Shoes: Kylie's Version

Jenner opted for a pair of chic and timeless Louboutins to start her graduation off on the right foot. Major shoe envy right here. How many high schoolers can afford over-$600 shoes? Not many.

The Shoes: My Version

Mine were around $600 cheaper than Jenner's, not quite as high (I was terrified that I'd trip), and a little less classy. But hey, they did the job.

My graduation might have been a lot different than Kylie Jenner's, but I can only assume that we were both equally as proud of ourselves on the big day. Now we'll have to wait and see what North West wears during her graduation.
