Caitlyn Warakomski Shares How She Owns Her Unique Style In Summer’s Hottest Accessory

By Bustle Studios

For years, the implicit rule for sunglasses has been "the bigger the better." But scrolling through social media lately, you see tiny, angular frames making a serious splash. Perhaps you love the little lens look but are still low-key asking yourself: "How do I wear that?"

Fashion influencer Caitlyn Warakomski (IG: @caitlynwarakomski) is embracing this trend for summer 2019 with some drool-worthy sunnies from the Gigi Hadid x Vogue Eyewear collection. Even with her grid of enviable and distinct outfits, the stylish girl next door shies away from boxing her look into one category. "A little bit casual, a little girly, a little edgy and a little boho with a little bit of funkiness to it. But above all else, relatable," Warakomski says.

It's the accessories, however, that really pull the look together for her — especially sunglasses. "I am a HUGE fan of sunglasses all year round," the fashionista tells us, estimating that she owns about 15 pairs. "Literally almost every photo of myself on Instagram, I am wearing sunglasses. I can't leave the house without them!"

A robust sunglass collection means being a little adventurous with your eyewear, especially in the summer months when it matters most.

Speaking of, this Jersey girl has plenty of plans this summer, all of which require sun and sand. "My goal is to get as much beach time as possible. I grew up near the beach in New Jersey, so I plan to be there a lot," she says. Naturally, her first look is inspired by the shore!

"I would describe this look as casual beach chic. I love the stark white shirt contrasted next to the deep blue denim, and then chose to accessorize them with Tortoiseshell rectangle sunnies."

Speaking of those sunnies, she's wearing a pair of Brown Yellow Tortoise Gigi Hadid x Vogue Eyewear frames. "I love the yellow and black mix in these," Warakomski says. "The combination of colors makes it so easy to style." It's old-school meets new-school in the chic-est way.

Most importantly, it's an unfussy, easy look to bring from the sand dunes to the boardwalk restaurant. As Caitlyn says, "It is such an easy look to re-create and to even wear to the beach, to run errands or even out for casual drinks and dinner."

Whoever said black isn't a summer color was sorely mistaken. In a black linen dress and a pair of black acetate Gigi Hadid x Vogue Eyewear sunglasses, Caitlyn proves that monochromatic black is just as summer-appropriate as all-white.

"This look was inspired by a European summer. Very classic and chic, but still providing elements that stand out," she says. "The linen dress is perfect for those super hot days in the summer when you want to be really comfy, but also look put together." We're taking notes.

Just like the butterfly-printed scarf or jute handbag, Caitlyn credits her accessories — most notably the sunglasses — with pulling the look together. "I absolutely love cat-eye sunglasses," says the fashionista. "I also love the black on black. It is really chic and elevated, but also has a vintage feel like to it which I love."

That seems to be a key to her confidence: keep it simple, but don't shy away from bolder statements that showcase your unique point of view.

"Being confident is key," Warakomski says. That's where her love of fashion originated. "I've always loved putting together outfits and it is the easiest thing to make you feel authentic and true to yourself." Now that's a summer mood.
