If any K-Pop fan is asked what word pops in their mind when they think of 82MAJOR, their answers will probably be along the lines of ‘powerful’, ‘high-energy’, or ‘intense’. They wouldn’t be wrong; 82MAJOR is indeed known for their dynamic stage performances and striking visual concepts that incorporate everything from long coats paired with suits to head-to-toe black leather affairs.

But bold and showy isn’t the only card in 82MAJOR’s fashion deck. Turns out, the same group that can set a stage on fire with fierce choreography and sleek styling also knows how to keep things chill without losing an ounce of star quality.

In their latest photoshoot, 82MAJOR embraces a laid-back, casual vibe wearing outfits from YUJI, a Korean clothing brand that is becoming known among trendsetters of Seoul for its effortless blend of classic shapes with modern details. Each member’s looks are elevated with handcrafted accessories from SYLK, yet another Korean brand loved by Korean celebrities and street fashionistas alike.

The contrast between their onstage intensity and off-duty cool is exactly what makes 82MAJOR so compelling right now. They’re currently on their first North America tour across the U.S. and Canada, but before jetting off, they gave fans a softer, more casual glimpse into their style with this new photoshoot.

Through a series of individual portraits of each member, the photos capture the casual charm of each member, highlighting their easy confidence and natural charisma.

CHO SEONG IL

In terms of which version of himself – intense and powerful, or laid-back and cool – he can relate to more, 82MAJOR leader CHO SEONG IL has a clear preference: “I like my casual side more! Because in daily life I don’t have a very intense image, so casual looks express my true self better.” True to his words, CHO SEONG IL loved the matching denim jacket and pants he wore for this photoshoot–“I think they looked great on me,”-- and would have taken them home, if nobody was watching.

For the upcoming tour, CHO SEONG IL plans on completing his casual look with sunglasses. They’re not just for the vibes, though. “I need to protect my eyes from the sun!” He adds cheerfully.

PARK SEOK JOON

Unlike SEONG IL, 82MAJOR rapper PARK SEOK JOON can’t choose between charismatic and chill: “It’s hard to pick just one look… I like that both show my contrasting charms.” He’s equally indecisive about which look from the photoshoot was his favorite. “I liked all of the outfits! I wanted to take all of them home with me,” he admits. With his killer visuals and deep baritone voice, PARK SEOK JOON can pull off any style or concept he wants… and he knows it. Given the choice to switch wardrobes with any member for a week, he’d pick YOON YE CHAN because “YE CHAN has a lot of clothes, so I’d have a lot of options to choose from.”

For the upcoming tour, PARK SEOK JOON is making sure to bring his earphones. “They’re essential for travelling overseas,” he insists.

YOON YE CHAN

SEOK JOON is not the only one who has his eyes on 82MAJOR rapper and main dancer YOON YE CHAN’s closet. Five out of six members (including YE CHAN himself) want to swap closets with him. Apparently, when it comes to fashion inspo, YOON YE CHAN is the unofficial MVP of the group’s wardrobe. “I don’t want to switch with anyone! I think I’m the best dresser of all the members,” he brags cheekily. After the photoshoot in YUJI garb, YOON YE CHAN is ready for a design collaboration: “I’d love to create a hat with them!”

For the upcoming tour, 82MAJOR’s unofficial fashion guru YOON YE CHAN’s must-pack items are, of course, “Comfortable yet stylish clothes, for the long rides on the road.”

NAM SEONG MO

82MAJOR rapper NAM SEONG MO is the other unofficial style icon of 82MAJOR, gaining a vote from KIM DO GYUN on switching closets for a week (“SEONG MO’s good at finding hidden gem items,” according to DO GYUN.) Like YE CHAN, NAM SEONG MO would love a design collaboration project, with both YUJI and SYLK. “I’d love to design a jacket [with YUJI] and a necklace [with SYLK],” he says. Given YE CHAN and SEONG MO’s eye for fashion, an 82MAJOR and YUJI collab might just be in their future.

For the upcoming tour, NAM SEONG MO is definitely double checking his suitcase to make sure all his tech gear is inside. “I’m packing my laptop! And I’ve got to bring my headset and my earphones.”

HWANG SEONG BIN

One would never guess from watching him spit rapid-fire verses on stage, but 82MAJOR rapper HWANG SEONG BIN is actually a huge fan of soft and comfy clothes. “My go-to casual look is usually sweatpants, a T-shirt, and zip-up hoodie,” he shares. “I like how comfortable they are!” With his soft spot for cozy clothes and his bright smile, HWANG SEONG BIN is the definition of a summer child. And he is looking forward to spreading his warm energy at the tour: “I want to create a song that feels just like summer for listeners. I hope we can make a song that captures the summer mood, and enjoy it with the crowds at our concert!”

For the upcoming tour, HWANG SEONG BIN is bringing – no surprises here – his comfiest pajamas. “Since we’ll be touring for quite some time, I think I’ll bring some facial masks as well,” he adds.

KIM DO GYUN

Vocal member and the youngest of 82MAJOR, KIM DO GYUN is the one with the craziest hairstyles with every comeback (for proof, one needs to look no further than his devil horns from the group’s debut album ‘BEAT by 82’ promotions.) And yet he has some unexpected preferences in casual attire: “Jeans and plain T-shirt combo is my go-to! I think it looks clean and suits me well!” As the youngest of the group, KIM DO GYUN brings a fresh, playful energy to 82MAJOR’s performances. But the age gap shouldn’t fool anyone. He’s wise beyond his years, often seeming even more mature than the older members.

For the upcoming tour, KIM DO GYUN is packing nothing but "A strong mental state." The youngest member is clearly the group’s life coach.
