On Feb. 1, Adele announced on social media that she would perform at the 2022 Brit Awards on Feb. 8, ending her post with a shoutout to her boyfriend Rich Paul and seemingly denying rumors of drama between them.

While he didn’t walk the red carpet with her, Adele sparked rumors that she was engaged to Paul by sporting a diamond ring as part of her gorgeous red carpet look.

When asked about the ring after the Brits during an interview on The Graham Norton Show, Adele said, “If I was [engaged], would I ever tell anyone if I was or wasn’t?” As confirmed by People, the rock on Adele’s left hand was a diamond teardrop ring designed by Lorraine Schwartz that matched her earrings.

Before going into this year’s show, Adele had won nine Brit Awards — the most of any female artist — making her the undisputed queen of the Brits.

Adele did pose from her seat in the audience, but she didn’t spend much time there, considering she gave a performance and three acceptance speeches for Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Artist of the Year.

At the start of the show, Adele won her first award of the night, taking home British Song of the Year for “Easy on Me.” Needless to say, she was a bit stunned.

“I can’t believe that a piano ballad won up against that many bangers,” Adele said in her acceptance speech.

Midway into the show, Adele performed a rendition of fan-favorite 30 track “I Drink Wine,” sitting atop the piano with just her band and a shimmering gold wall in the background.

Adele put her heart and soul into the performance, judging by her intense facial expressions alone.

Adele’s 2011 Brits performance of “Someone Like You” is considered a breakthrough moment in her career, sending the song to No. 1 in the United Kingdom and launching the 21 album to stratospheric heights.

This marks Adele’s third Brits performance since that fateful moment. The singer returned in 2012 to perform her other breakout hit “Rolling in the Deep,” and closed the 2016 show with her 25 single “When We Were Young.”

It looks like Adele was touched by the audience’s reaction to her performance of “I Drink Wine.”

When the singer took home her second win of the night, for British Artist of the Year, she became so elated that the censors briefly went into effect, leading fans to believe she cursed. Classic Adele.

Adele got emotional after winning Album of the Year for 30 and dedicating the victory to ex-husband Simon Konecki and their son, Angelo, stating “this album was all of our journey, not just mine.”

Adele celebrated all of her victories in the backstage press room by posing with her three trophies. With 12 wins now under her belt, she’s just one Brit away from tying Robbie Williams as the most decorated artist in the show’s history.
