Brenda Rosen Believes In The Power Of Long-Term Care For Those Experiencing Homelessness

How one native New Yorker is going above and beyond to help the city’s most vulnerable.

As president and CEO of Breaking Ground, Brenda Rosen believes that everyone deserves a home. The New York City-based nonprofit offers long-term supportive and affordable housing, as well as services for individuals experiencing homelessness.

For Rosen, this mission is personal.

When Rosen was 9 years old, she and her family moved from the Bronx to Roosevelt Island. Nine days after moving, Rosen and her 11-year-old brother arrived at home and found that an electrical fire had destroyed the family’s apartment.
