Tabitha Brown Celebrates Three Years Of Being A Social Media Superstar

We crash an intimate anniversary celebration for beloved vegan social media star Tabitha Brown

Back in 2017, after a year and seven months of suffering from a mysterious headache, as well as depression and anxiety, Tabitha Brown decided on a whim to try a 30-day vegan challenge — no other attempts to improve her health seemed to work. “After the first ten days, my headache went away,” says Tabitha. “My pain just started to leave my body.”

And she didn’t keep the physical and emotional benefits of clean eating to herself. Tabitha, an actress and mom of two, started uploading videos about her vegan journey. Almost overnight, millions and millions of people across social media began to follow her, seeking out her newfound positive outlook and healthy lifestyle.

“At first, I thought, ‘Why in the world am I even doing this?’” Tabitha recalls. “But when [the videos] started going viral and people really started to respond, I thought, ‘Wow, people need this.’ My goal was always to make people feel seen, loved, and heard, and I feel like that’s what I’m doing and that’s why people gravitate towards me.”

Tabitha’s videos are infused with her signature intimacy that invites you right into her home with her. In addition to her infectious laugh, irresistible Southern accent, and aura of unconditional kindness that radiates from the screen, Tabitha has another, simpler secret weapon that brings her viewers closer to her: her Samsung Galaxy A71 5G.

“When you’re doing social media with food, you want people to feel like they can bite the food, right?” says Brown. “The video quality on my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G — it’s so crystal clear. It doesn’t move, it’s steady, it’s beautiful. And people are always asking, ‘Ooh, what are you shooting with?’ I don’t even have the heart to tell them, ‘Honey, it’s just my phone!’”

For Tabitha’s legions of followers, it would be a chance of a lifetime to be invited for one of her famous Sunday get-togethers. Lucky for us, she invited BDG Studios into her home to share in a celebration of her three-year anniversary of two life-changing milestones: going vegan and posting her first video. We all have a seat at her table — alongside her close friends Nick, Carlos, and Catarah, who makes a mean vegan peach cobbler — as Tabitha reflects on three years as a social media superstar. “My complete life path changed,” she says.

Of course, over three years of creating thousands of viral videos and social media posts, Tabitha’s phone has become her constant companion, so she’s had to choose one that will never fail her. “Usually I gotta look for a cord, then I gotta make sure I’m recording in one place, but I don’t have to do that with the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G. I can feel confident and know, ‘Ooh, my battery gonna last, and I’m good!’” And with such a hectic schedule of constantly capturing content throughout every moment of her day, it’s a luxury to know she’s not limited by space, so she’ll never miss a spontaneous insight, dance sesh, or funny moment. “To be honest with you, I haven’t even thought about storage,” she says with her famous laugh. “I just take pictures and videos and I don’t even have to worry about it.”

For Tabitha’s family members (blood-related and chosen) who can’t be there in person to celebrate with her, Tabitha makes sure to bring them in on the fun and laughs, too. “When it comes to me being so far away from my family back in North Carolina, I can use the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G for direct conversation,” she explains. “When I talk to my dad, when I talk to my sister or my friends, I don’t have to feel like I’m in another country or it’s delayed like there’s lag time. It feels like I’m almost right there with them, and I love that — the fast 5G just brings that quality of life back.”

Over laughs and good food at her Sunday dinner, Tabitha and her innermost circle discussed the unexpected and wonderful changes they’ve all experienced along with her. Reflecting on her three-year journey, Tabitha sums up her relatively simple core mission, both in life and in her career.

“I always gotta focus on the light, but I know what it feels like to be in the dark space,” Tabitha says. “So for other people out there, I may be that crack of light, and if they only get to see it a minute a day, I want to be that. So I did the videos to inspire people and say, ‘You know what, you’re not alone. I’m your piece of light, I’m your friend in this moment," so people don’t give up.”
