These Female-Led Action Movies Are Not To Be Missed

Women grow up being told they're fragile, and pure and we see this trope played out in many male-centered films. Generally, women in these movies are kept in the backdrop, especially in action films geared around mystery, sex, and puddles of blood. Action films have been historically male-centered, and it's a huge deal when women get to embody some of the leading characters. Regardless of whether they're playing heroes or villains, it's so satisfying to see women be in the forefront of action movies. Fortunately, we have a lot of promising contenders for female-led action flicks coming out soon, and I can't wait to get my hands on tickets to all 11 of them.

There are a lot of "manly" action flicks that are great in their own right, of course, but it's always a special treat to see a female-led movie that leaves the audience with goosebumps. Ones from the past like The Hunger Games, Kill Bill, and Miss Congeniality are certain classics, but there unfortunately haven't been too many to love over the last several years. Thankfully, these upcoming 11 female-led action films look incredibly promising, and are certainly not to be missed. Mark your calendars now, ladies.
